This second survey is being used to help decide who will be an Algonquin.
NOTE - This survey will be used to help
develop a draft citizenship/beneficiary law, and was sent to all
Algonquins who are at least of one-eighth (1/8) Algonquin blood
descent from known Algonquins of that part of Algonquin Territory
in present day Ontario. It is not intended to affect the rights
of other Algonquins.
Definitions:
Beneficiary - A person
who will receive benefits from the treaty.
Citizenship - Is all of
the citizens who will be considered part of the Algonquin Nation.
Blood Quantum - A
determined level of blood, a blood cut off such as one-eighth.
Descent - One of your
ancestors is Algonquin.
